Open Floor Plan Living
They say that the kitchen is the heart of the home and isn’t that truth! I spend so much time in our kitchen that I affectionately call it “my office.” It’s the first room that you see when you enter our home and I always like to welcome Christmas by going all out with the decorations.
The Morning Room
Nestled in between the kitchen and dining area is my favorite spot, the morning room. Every morning I sit with a cup of tea, read my emails, and catch up on instagram. This past Fall, I swapped out our light beige carpet for a bright green wool rug. For those cold Winter months don’t forget to add cozy blankets and down filled pillows. I love to layer on the patterns. The more the merrier. I have some fun changes to this area that I will share later on in December! You won’t want to miss that. Make sure to get a sneak peek on my IG stories.
With 12 foot ceiling in our kitchen, a large black island with white quartz counter anchors the room. I added fresh pine mini wreaths to the backs of the farmhouse counter stools with a classic white and red grossgrain ribbon.
Just the Three of Us
For most meals especially breakfast we eat at the island. I fell in love with these boxwood chargers from Wisteria Flowers and Gifts. They add just the right amount of greenery and are the perfect foundation for my whimsical red, white and gold handmade mugs and plates also from Wisteria.
